Laser Tattoo Removal

Thinking about removing a tattoo?
Whether you’ve outgrown your ink, want to fade a tattoo for a cover-up, or need removal for career reasons, we’re here to help. During your consultation, we’ll assess your tattoo, and in most cases, laser tattoo removal will be the recommended treatment.

Is This Treatment for You?

Laser tattoo removal may be right for you if:

  • You wish you never got a tattoo

  • You're looking to fade a tattoo for a new design

  • You need tattoo removal for personal or professional reasons

How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?

We use the Lynton Lumina, one of the most advanced and trusted lasers on the market for tattoo removal. This award-winning system uses Active Q-Switched laser technology to deliver powerful pulses of light in ultra-short bursts. The light is absorbed by the tattoo pigment, breaking the ink into tiny particles. Your immune system then naturally clears away the dispersed ink, causing the tattoo to gradually fade.

During treatment, the area is cleansed and the laser is passed over the tattoo, releasing quick pulses of light. You may hear a clicking sound as the ink particles shatter. A soothing lotion is applied post-treatment to calm the skin.

What Does It Feel Like?

Most people describe the sensation as similar to the snap of an elastic band or a hot pin prick. It’s mildly uncomfortable but generally well tolerated. To make the treatment more comfortable, we use a skin cooling device throughout your session.

What Happens After Treatment?

An immediate whitening or ‘frosting’ of the skin is common and fades quickly. The area may feel tender and appear red or swollen for up to 48 hours. Some tattoos may form a light graze or scab—this is completely normal and should be left to heal naturally. Fading occurs gradually over the next 4 to 8 weeks as your body processes the broken-down ink.

Recovery & Aftercare

  • It’s important to keep the treated area out of the sun before and after each session—avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 4 weeks pre- and post-treatment

  • Always use a broad-spectrum SPF 50 on the area if it’s exposed

  • Temporary changes in skin tone (lighter or darker) can occur but usually resolve over time

  • Blistering is rare but may happen in some cases and is a normal part of healing

  • If a graze forms, allow it to heal naturally—avoid picking or scratching

  • When aftercare is followed properly, skin heals beautifully with minimal risk of any lasting texture change

  • Your skin’s natural tanning ability in the treated area may be temporarily reduced

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

This depends on several factors including the age, depth, density, and colours used in your tattoo.

  • Amateur tattoos typically require 1–6 sessions

  • Professional tattoos can take up to 15 sessions

  • Treatments are spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart

  • Each session lasts between 10 and 30 minutes, depending on the size of the tattoo
